Hawks face Grand Valley State in NCAA Regional

The Rockhurst men's tennis team will open play in the NCAA Division II Tournament on Saturday (April 29) in Big Rapids, Mich.

The Hawks (13-7) are the No. 5 seed in the Midwest Region and will face fourth-seeded Grand Valley State (18-7) on Saturday at 11 a.m. (10 a.m. CT) at the Ferris State University Racquet and Fitness Center.

Ferris State (18-2) drew the number one seed in the Midwest Region and earned a first-round bye. The Rockhurst-Grand Valley State winner will meet Ferris State at 11 a.m. (10 a.m. CT) Sunday (April 30) in Big Rapids.

The winner of the three-team event will move on to the NCAA Round of 16 on May 9-12 in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

GLVC champion Indianapolis was also chosen to host the other Midwest Regional bracket. Second-seeded Indianapolis will play No. 7 Southern Indiana and third-seeded Drury will face No. 6 Northwood on Saturday (April 29).
