Split leaves Hawks tied for first place in the GLVC

Lauren Marks drove in three runs in the Hawks' 6-3 win in Game 1.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Lauren Marks drove in three runs to lead Rockhurst to a 6-3 victory over Wisconsin-Parkside in the first game of a conference doubleheader Monday at Loyola Park.

Parkside rallied to win the second game, 4-3, with the help of two throwing errors in the sixth inning.

The Hawks (30-20) remain tied for first place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with Southern Indiana at 19-7 with four games left in the regular season.

Rockhurst jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning of the opening game. Marks singled home two runs in the third to give the Hawks a 6-1 lead.

Shannon Greene (8-12) allowed three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts. Lauren Cairo led the Hawks with three hits and an RBI single.

In the second game, Bridgette Sappington (21-6) allowed four runs on eight hits. Madison Wagner led the Hawks with two hits and drove in one run.
