Hawks improve league record to 15-3 with sweep at Quincy

Lauren Cairo hit a pair of two-run home runs at Quincy.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Lauren Cairo drove in four runs on a pair of two-run home runs to lead Rockhurst to 6-1 and 7-2 victories over Quincy in a conference doubleheader Friday in Quincy, Ill.

The Hawks (26-16) have won six games in a row and sit in first place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 15-3 record going into a doubleheader at Truman State on Saturday.

Cairo hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning in the first game. She added another two-run blast in the second inning in the second game.

Kelsey Tepen also found the fences in the first game with a two-run shot in the sixth and added an RBI single in the second game. Lexie Zuniga also hit a two-run home run in the sixth in game two.

Shannon Greene (7-10) went the distance in the first game, allowing one run on six hits. Bridgette Sappington (18-4) allowed two runs on five hits.
