Gilstrap leads Hawks to 21-3 win over Dubuque

Madeline Gilstrap led the Hawks with nine points.

Box Score Madeline Gilstrap scored nine points on three goals and six assists to lead Rockhurst to a 21-3 victory over the University of Dubuque Saturday at Bourke Field.

The Hawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first three minutes and led 15-1 at halftime. Rockhurst outscored the Spartans 7-2 in the second half.
Hannah Weisbrod posted a team-high four goals. Maddie Scheipeter and Shayna Stevens each posted two goals and one assist. Tessa Boots, Tierney Buschbacher and Clare Goessling added two goals apiece.

Rockhurst outshot Dubuque, 33-7. Weisbrod and Buschbacher each posted five shots to lead the Hawks. Gilstrap and Stevens added four shots apiece. Scheipeter collected a team-high five draw controls. Goessling tallied five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Leena Nabulsi and Sydney Drysdale combined for four saves.

The Hawks (7-4, 3-1 RMAC) return to conference play at Fort Lewis on Tuesday (April 4).
