Women face 21st-ranked Grand Valley State

The Hawks ranked 14th in the D-II in scoring defense
Rockhurst is making its first appearance in the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championships. The Hawks, 13-4, will face the 21st-ranked Grand Valley State Lakers, 15-3, in an NCAA Division II Midwest Regional first-round game Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Maryville University Lacrosse Field in St. Louis, Missouri. The Midwest Regional winner will advance to the D-II national semifinals, May 22-24, in Salem, Va.

RU vs. Grand Valley State: Rockhurst and Grand Valley State will be meeting for the second time. GVSU won their first meeting, 17-4, at Rockhurst on March 17, 2024.

2025 RU ROSTER: Rockhurst's 2025 NCAA roster includes seven seniors, eight juniors, nine sophomores and four freshmen representing 10 U.S. states and Canada. Thirteen members of the team are from Missouri, three from Colorado and two each from Minnesota, Texas and British Columbia, Canada.

HEAD COACH: Molly McCourt is in her ninth year with the Hawks and has a 93-75 career record. She has led her team to six winning seasons and four double-digit win seasons. Rockhurst ranks 14th in D-II in scoring defense, allowing only 149 goals (8.76/game) and 40th in scoring offense in D-II with 226 goals (13.20/game).

TEAM LEADERS: Elise Magee leads the team with 51 goals, 10 free-position goals and 60 points. Page Yehling is the team leader in ground balls (42) and caused turnovers (28). Kylee Pickens has posted a team-high 163 draw controls, along with collecting 21 points and 21 ground balls.

NCAA STAT LEADERS: Kylee Pickens ranks second in draw controls (9.59 per game). Elise Magee stands 10th in free-position goals (1.12 per game). Mae Beins ranks 11th in goals against average (8.73 per game).

ALL-GLVC HONORS: Eight Rockhurst players received All-Conference honors from the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Freshman midfielder Kylee Pickens earned First Team honors and was named GLVC Freshman of the Year. Junior attacker Elise Magee and senior midfielder Page Yehling garnered Second Team accolades. Senior attacker Reagan Danner, senior defender Tori Julian, sophomore defender Audra Yoder, junior defender Abby Gerstner, and senior goalie Mae Beins earned honorable mention honors.
