Rockhurst drops two games in Florida

Hannah Pyle hit a two-run home run against Grand Valley State.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Grand Valley State scored five runs in the third inning to carry the Lakers to a 7-3 victory over Rockhurst Thursday in the Spring Games in Clermont, Fla.

Rockhurst scored three runs in the third on a two-run home run by Hannah Pyle and a run-scoring double by Payton Staggs. Shannon Greene (2-6) took the loss in relief of starter Bridgette Sappington.

The Hawks lost to Cedarville 6-1 earlier in the day. Lauren Marks drove in a run with a groundout in the fourth inning. Greene allowed two unearned runs on five hits in 4.0 innings.

The Hawks (10-10) play Ferris State and Pittsburgh-Johnston on Friday in Florida.
