Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Bridgette Sappington shut out Southwest Baptist on five hits to lead Rockhurst to a 1-0 victory in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday at Loyola Park.

Sappington struck out six in winning her 10th game of the season. Taylor Rupe singled home the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Madison Wagner singled to set up the winning run.

Southwest Baptist won the second game, 2-1, in eight innings. Wagner led the Hawks with two hits. Shannon Greene (3-9) allowed two runs on six hits in 7.0 innings.

The Hawks (14-14, 3-1 GLVC) host Saint Joseph's on Saturday.
