The Hawks were held to four singles by starter Emily Cudd in dropping their season opener. Southeastern scored the only run of the game on a triple and groundout in the fifth inning. Bridgette Sappington allowed one run on three hits in 6.0 innings.

East Central 4, Rockhurst 2
East Central scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally past the Hawks, Rockhurst took a 2-1 lead in the sixth on a RBI double by Taylor Rupe, who led the Hawks with two hits. Halle Koelliker doubled and scored on a passed ball in the second inning. Freshman Payton Staggs took the loss, allowing four runs on five hits over 3.0 innings.
