Box Score 2 Rockhurst combined for 26 runs and 31 hits in a doubleheader sweep over Lewis on Saturday at Loyola Park.
Corbin Hare and
Garrett Weber each drove in three runs to lead the Hawks to a 14-3 victory in the first game. Weber capped the scoring with a three-run home run to left field in the seventh.
Henry Weiler led the 18-hit attack with three hits.
Wylson Lamb,
Brett Marr,
Nic Mertes and Hare each collected two hits. Mertes had a double and triple. Lamb added two RBIs.
Michael Lydon-Lorson (2-0) held Lewis three runs on six hits over 6.1 innings.
Brock Collins got the final two outs.
In the second game,
Jeremy Lufft went four-for-four with five RBIs to power Rockhurst to a 12-4 win over the Flyers. Lufft doubled home two runs in the third and hit a two-run home run to left field in the seventh.
Mertes smashed a three-run home run to right field in the third.
Mitch Stickney added two RBIs. Marr, Weiler and
Seth Soto each posted two hits.
Andrew Ellwanger (1-0) allowed four runs on eight hits over four innings.
Jacob Thigpen and
Jonathan Fink pitched the final three innings.
The Hawks (4-0) host Lewis in another doubleheader on Sunday (Feb. 26).
