Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Senior Morgan Rietzke and freshman Alyssa Woodman combined for 35 kills and 31 digs to lead the Hawks to a season opening win over Lynn. After winning the first set, both teams alternated wins before Rockhurst pulled away with a 15-9 win in the fifth set.

Rietzke set the pace with 15 kills and 18 digs, while Woodman recorded a double-double of her own with 20 kills and 13 digs. Grace Carter finished with 42 assists, Mattie Gray added 12 kills, and Anne Hellwege had 22 digs.

Rockhurst dropped their second match of the day in five sets to Saint Leo. After the Hawks took the first two sets, the Lions would take the next two and win the fifth game 15-8. Alyssa Woodman led the Hawks with 16 kills. Grace Carter finished with 34 assists.

The Hawks, 1-1, face Bentley and Nova Southeastern on Saturday to wrap up the Shark Invitational.
