Box Score Brett Marr came off the bench to single home the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Rockhurst to a 5-4 victory over Truman State Friday night at Loyola Park.
The win leaves Rockhurst a half-game behind Quincy in the GLVC West Division with a 16-9 conference record.
Marr's pinch-hit single to right field scored
Mitch Stickney from second base. The winning run was set up with back-to-back walks to Stickney and
Jeremy Lufft.
David Stober led the Hawks with three hits.
Henry Weiler posted two hits, including a run-scoring single in the third.
Joey Mancuso tied the score at 3-3 with a sacrifice fly in the eighth.
Alex Merithew (4-4) picked up the win in relief of starter
Michael Lydon-Lorson, who allowed four runs on 10 hits and struck out eight in 8.0 innings.
Rockhurst, 25-21 overall, continues its four-game series against Truman State with a doubleheader Saturday afternoon.
