Box Score 2 Rockhurst combined solid pitching and timely hitting to sweep Drury, 3-1 and 6-1, Sunday at Loyola Park to complete a 4-0 record over the weekend.
The Hawks collected nine singles in the opener.
Madison Wagner,
Lauren Cairo and
Alex Hill each had two hits. Wagner and
Lexie Zuniga posted RBI singles.
Shannon Greene (6-11) allowed one run on five hits in 7.0 innings while recording 16 groundball outs.
In the second game, the Hawks collected 10 hits and six extra-base hits. Wagner,
Kelsey Dean and
Kelsey Tepen paced Rockhurst with two hits apiece. Tepen doubled home a run in the fourth and Wagner hit an RBI triple in the sixth.
Bridgette Sappington (8-11) allowed one run on five hits in 7.0 innings. She walked two and struck out one.
The Hawks (14-22, 7-11 GLVC) host Truman State at noon on Saturday (April 9).
