Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Gabbie Boerema drove in five runs on two home runs to power Rockhurst to a 6-1 victory over Illinois Springfield in the second game of a conference doubleheader Saturday at Loyola Park.

Boerema hit a three-run homer down the left-field line in the third inning. She followed that with a two-run blast to left field in the fifth. Lexie Zuniga wrapped up the scoring with a solo homer to center in the fifth.

Bridgette Sappington (11-12) allowed one run on five hits over 7.0 innings with two strikeouts. Madison Wagner and Boerema led the Hawks with two hits.

Springfield shut out Rockhurst, 2-0, in the first game. The Prairie Stars scored unearned runs in the second and seventh innings.

Shannon Greene (8-15) allowed two runs on four hits in 7.0 innings with five strikeouts and two walks. The Hawks were held to four hits.

The Hawks (19-27, 12-16 GLVC) close out the regular season at home against McKendree on Sunday (April 24).
