Box Score 2 Andrew Ellwanger pitched a three-hitter to lead Rockhurst to a 3-1 win over Missouri-St. Louis to complete a conference sweep over the Tritons Sunday in St. Louis. The Hawks rallied to win the first game, 4-3.
Ellwanger struck out seven and did not issue any walks over nine innings to win his second game of the season.
Brandon Mikulka and
Brett Marr led the Hawks with three hits apiece. Mikulka tied the score at 1-1 with a solo home run in the fifth inning.
Seth Soto drove in the go-ahead runs with a double in the ninth.
In the opener, the Hawks scored two runs in the seventh.
David Stober singled home the winning run and
Dylan Brauner tied the score with a pinch-hit RBI single.
Tim Mahoney gave the Hawks a 2-1 lead with a two-run home run in the fourth.
Thomas Cargile (4-1) allowed two runs on three hits in 3.2 innings in relief of starter
Grant Otte.
The Hawks (19-18, 10-6 GLVC) return home to host Drury in a four-game series on April 23-24.
