Rockhurst upsets 34th-ranked Newman, 7-2

Daniel Chmielewski was victorious in No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles.

The Rockhurst men upset the 34th-ranked Newman Jets by a 7-2 score Sunday at the Loyola Park Tennis Courts.

Jonas Stropus, Daniel Chmielewski, Joe Ibarra and Nicolas Riveros won in both singles and doubles. Eduardo Santos defeated Rockhurst's Oskar Unger in No. 1 singles. Unger and Jonas Stropus fell in No. 1 doubles by a 8-2 score.

The Hawks (2-1) host Nebraska-Kearney on Friday, March 11.
