Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 William Jewell limited Rockhurst to five runs on 12 hits in sweeping the Hawks, 8-2 and 4-3, Tuesday in Liberty, Missouri.

The Cardinals held on to win the second game by throwing out the tying run at home plate to end the game. Madison Wagner cut Jewell's lead to one run with a two-out single in the seventh inning. Lexie Zuniga was thrown out on the play going from second to home.

Hannah Pyle hit a two-run home run in the fourth to cut Jewell's lead to 3-2. Pyle led the Hawks with two hits. Shannon Greene (4-11) allowed four runs on eight hits in 6.0 innings.

In the first game, Jewell scored five runs in the fifth inning to take a 7-2 lead. Danielle Cross paced the Hawks with two hits and two RBIs. Bridgette Sappington (6-11) allowed six runs on nine hits in 5.2 innings. She walked three and struck out five.

The Hawks (10-22, 3-11 GLVC) play at Missouri S&T on Saturday (April 2).
