Box Score 2 Rockhurst broke out offensively in the final three innings to post a 9-2 victory over Lindenwood in the second game of a doubleheader Wednesday in St. Charles, Missouri.
The Hawks scored four runs on three hits in the fifth inning to take a 4-2 lead.
Kelsey Tepen doubled home the first run and
Hannah Pyle added a run-scoring single.
Danielle Cross cleared the bases with a three-run double in the sixth.
Lauren Cairo hit a two-home run in the seventh.
Madison Wagner, Pyle and Cairo each posted two hits.
Shannon Greene (2-5) gave up one earned run on eight hits over 7.0 innings.
In the first game, Lindenwood scored two runs in the sixth to edge the Hawks 2-1. Tepen led the Hawks with two hits with an RBI double.
Bridgette Sappington (4-5) allowed two runs on six hits in 6.0 innings.
The Hawks (6-10) will play a doubleheader at Newman on Wednesday (March 9).
