Box Score Mitch Stickney hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the fifth inning to carry Rockhurst to an 11-10 victory over Cedarville Saturday at Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater, Florida.
Stickney's homer to left field gave the Hawks a 6-5 lead. Rockhurst scored three runs in the sixth and added single tallies in the seventh and eighth to take an 11-5 lead. Cedarville rallied to plate five runs in the eighth off three Rockhurst pitchers.
Stickney led the Hawks with three hits and two RBIs.
Joey Mancuso and
Seth Soto each collected two hits as Rockhurst finished with 14 hits.
Brett Marr and
Henry Weiler both posted two RBIs.
Henry Weiler (2-1) allowed five runs on four hits and walked three over 5.0 innings.
Alex Merithew got the last three outs to pick up his first save of the season.
The Hawks (6-5) next face Minnesota Crookston on Monday in Clearwater.
