Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Rockhurst pushed across a run in extra innings to defeat Missouri Southern 2-1 on Sunday in the Teri-Mathis Zenner Memorial Tournament in Joplin, Missouri.

Madison Wagner drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th inning. Bridgette Sappington got the final two outs with the tying run on third.

Rachel Evans walked and scored on a wild pitch in the second. Sappington (4-3) got the win in relief of Shannon Greene, who held Southern to one run on four hits over 8.1 innings.

The Hawks ended the tournament with a 7-1 loss to Northeastern State. Lonnie Groves singled home a run in the seventh. Gabbie Boerema led the Hawks with three hits. Sappington (4-4) allowed six earned runs on 13 hits in 6.0 innings.

The Hawks (5-9) will play a doubleheader at Lindenwood on Wednesday.
