Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Rockhurst scored four runs in the sixth inning to pull away for a 5-2 victory over Missouri Western Saturday in the Teri-Mathis Zenner Memorial Tournament in Joplin, Missouri.

Caroline Lipp hit a three-run home run to give the Hawks a 5-1 lead in the sixth. Hannah Pyle, Lauren Cairo and Lexie Zuniga each singled to set the table for Lipp.

Lipp, Pyle and Gabbie Boerema led the Hawks with two hits apiece. Megan Freitag walked and scored on an error in the fifth. Bridgette Sappington (3-3) allowed two runs on five hits over 7.0 innings.

Earlier on Saturday, the Hawks suffered a 9-1 loss to Northwest Missouri State. Pyle hit a solo home run in the fourth. Shannon Greene (1-5) allowed seven earned runs on eight hits in 5.0 innings.

The Hawks (4-8) will play Missouri Southern and Northeastern State in Joplin.
