Box Score 2 Rockhurst posted a 4-3 victory over Southwest Baptist in eight innings to gain a split of a doubleheader Saturday in Bolivar, Missouri.
Rachel Evans drove in the winning run with a two-out single in the top of the eighth inning. Freshman
Shannon Greene left the tying run on third base to secure her first victory for the Hawks.
Kelsey Tepen led the Hawks with two hits and two RBIs. She doubled home a run in the third and added an RBI single in the fifth.
Hannah Pyle and Evans also collected two hits.
Madison Wagner hit a run-scoring triple in the fifth. Greene (1-4) allowed three runs on seven hits over 8.0 innings.
Southwest Baptist won the first game, 4-3, in eight innings. The Bearcats scored two runs in the eighth on a wild pitch and a double.
Tepen drove in two runs with a double in the fourth and a groundout in the eighth.
Gabbie Boerema added an RBI single in the sixth.
Bridgette Sappington (2-3) allowed four runs on nine hits in 7.2 innings.
The Hawks (3-7) will play in the Teri-Mathis Zenner Memorial Tournament in Joplin, Missouri on February 27-28.
