Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Demi Plathe combined for five hits and four RBI to lead Rockhurst to a doubleheader sweep over McKendree, 9-1 and 7-5, Friday in Lebanon, Ill.

Plathe hit a two-run home run in the first inning and added a two-run single in the fourth. Lexie Zuniga hit her eighth home run with a runner on base in the third.

The game was called after five innings due to the eight-run rule. Bridgette Sappington (20-9) allowed one run on two hits while striking out two over five innings.

In the second game, the Hawks scored three runs in the second on a Danielle Cross home run and tallied three runs in the fourth to take a 6-3 lead.

Plathe (6-7) gave up two runs on four hits over the four innings, in addition to going 3-for-4 at the plate. Cross went 2-for-4 with four RBI. Zuniga and Alex Hill added two hits apiece.

Rockhurst, 26-18 and 16-12 in the GLVC, close out the regular season at Illinois Springfield on Sunday, April 26.
