Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Demi Plathe supported her own cause with two doubles while throwing a complete game to lead Rockhurst to a 6-2 victory over Fort Hays State in the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday at Loyola Park. The Hawks dropped the nightcap, 2-1, in eight innings.

Rockhurst scored four runs on two hits in the fourth inning. Sarah Sebestyen singled and Plathe doubled to set up the rally. Rachel Evans, Lexie Zuniga and Alex Hill each drove in a run.

Plathe hit an RBI double in the first and Evans added a run-scoring single in the fifth. Sebestyen and Plathe each posted hits. Plathe (5-6) allowed eight hits while striking out four.

In the second game, the Tigers scored the winning run on a one-out outfield error. Bridgette Sappington (17-8) suffered her third consecutive loss. Zuniga drove in RU's run with a sacrifice bunt in the fourth.

Rockhurst, 22-16 and 12-10 in the GLVC, host Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday, April 18.
