Box Score 2 Rockhurst dropped both games of a doubleheader on Saturday at Quincy, falling 10-6 in the opener and 2-1 in eight innings in the nightcap.
Quincy scored six runs on three hits in the sixth inning to overcome a 5-4 deficit. Rockhurst crossed the plate five times in the fifth on five hits.
Lexie Zuniga hit a two-run home run,
Hannah Pyle drove in two runs with a double and
Caroline Lipp led off the frame with a pinch hit solo home run.
Madison Wagner posted two of Rockhurst's nine hits.
Bridgette Sappington took the loss in relief of
Demi Plathe.
In the second game, Quincy won on a walk-off double with one out in the eighth. Sappington (17-7) suffered her first loss in her last nine starts. Plathe homered in the seventh to tie the score.
Gabbie Boerema led the Hawks with two hits.
Rockhurst, 21-15 and 12-10 in the GLVC, host Fort Hays State on Tuesday, April 14.
