Box Score 2 Rockhurst scored six runs in the sixth inning to rally for a 6-2 victory over Benedictine to complete a doubleheader sweep Sunday at Loyola Park. The Hawks edged the Ravens, 2-1, in the first game.
Rachel Evans singled home the go-ahead run in the sixth to give the Hawks a 3-2 lead.
Caroline Lipp also posted an RBI double, while
Kelsey Tepen and
Kelsey Dean added run-scoring single. Evans and
Danielle Cross led the Hawks with two hits apiece.
Bridgette Sappington posted her second win of the season. She allowed two runs on five hits, and striking out five over seven innings.
Demi Plathe (2-1) went the distance in the first game, holding the Ravens to one earned run on three hits while striking out seven.
Alex Hill drove in the winning with a two-out single in the fifth.
Madison Wagner doubled home a run in the third and led the Hawks with two hits.
Rockhurst, 4-4, will host Southwest Baptist on Tuesday and Saint Mary on Wednesday in a pair of 3 p.m. doubleheaders.
