Box Score 2 Bridgette Sappington held Southern Indiana to three hits over 10 innings to lead Rockhurst to a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference wins over the 22nd-ranked Screaming Eagles Monday in Evansville, Ind.
The Hawks rallied to win the first game, 7-3, in nine innings. 
Kelsey Dean's two-run single tied the score at 3-3 in the seventh. Rockhurst scored four runs on four hits and two errors in the ninth. Dean singled home the go-ahead run in the ninth, followed by a two-run single by Sappington.
Sappington pitched the final three innings to win her fifth game of the season. 
Demi Plathe allowed three runs on seven hits over the first six innings.
Lexie Zuniga went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in the fifth. Dean collected two hits and three RBI. 
Sarah Sebestyen tallied two hits and an RBI. 
Madison Wagner also had two hits.
 
The Hawks won the second game, 6-0, behind a two-hit shutout by Sappington (6-3). Sebestyen paced the offense with two hits and three RBI. Wagner and Zuniga added two hits apiece to the 10-hit attack.
Rockhurst, 9-7 and 2-2 in the GLVC, play at Cumberland on Wednesday afternoon.
