Box Score William Jewell held off a late Rockhurst rally to defeat the Hawks 7-5 in a loser's bracket game in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Friday in East Peoria, Ill. The Hawks end the season with a 21-29 record.

Rockhurst scored three runs in the final two innings after falling behind 7-1 in the fourth inning. Liz Desloge grounded out with runners on second and third for the final out of the game.
Jewell scored five runs on five hits in the third inning and added a two-run homer in the fourth off starting pitcher Bridgette Sappington (16-16). Demi Plathe held the Cardinals scoreless on two hits in the final three innings.

Kelsey Dean hit her first home run of the season in the third for the Hawks' first run. Lexie Zuniga had an RBI groundout in fourth. Katelyn Bakey and Desloge added run-scoring singles in the sixth. Hannah Pyle drove home Dean with a groundout in the seventh.

Dean led the Hawks with two extra-base hits. Bakey and Desloge also posted two hits as Rockhurst collected seven hits.
