The 2014 Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Championship Tournament bracket is set. Rockhurst is the No. 8 seed and will face top-seeded Indianapolis in the tournament opener at 10 a.m. Friday on Field A at the EastSide Centre in East Peoria, Ill.
 
The Indianapolis Greyhounds (39-9, 28-4) have won eight of their last 10 games, while the Rockhurst Hawks (21-27, 16-18) have won six of their last eight games.
 
The top three teams from the GLVC East and West Divisions, along with two wild-card squads make up the eight-team field, based on winning percentage in conference play. Indianapolis (.875), Bellarmine (.750) and Lewis (.548) earned the automatic seeds from the East. Missouri-St. Louis (.867), Truman State (.833) and William Jewell (.594) are the top three teams in the West Division. Rockhurst (.471) and Illinois Springfield (.485) nabbed the two wild-card berths.
 
Missouri-St. Louis (41-6, 26-4) clinched the No. 2 seed and will face No. 7 seed Illinois Springfield (25-23, 16-17) on Field A at noon on Friday. Truman State (40-9, 30-6) earned the No. 3 seed and will face No. 6 Lewis (23-22, 17-15) on Field B at noon on Friday. No. 4 Bellarmine (34-14, 27-9) and No. 5 William Jewell (27-21, 19-13) will take to the diamond at 10 a.m. on Friday.
 
The double-elimination tournament will conclude with the championship game on Sunday.
