Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Bridgette Sappington and Demi Plathe held McKendree to one run on nine hits to lead Rockhurst to 6-0 and 5-1 wins in a conference doubleheader Saturday at RU's Loyola Park.

A two-run double by Alex Jacobson highlighted a five-run third inning in the first game. Liz Desloge posted an RBI double, while Alex Hill and Lexie Zuniga added run-scoring singles in the third. Gabbie Boerema collected an RBI single in the sixth. Sappington (13-14) held Springfield to four hits over five innings while striking out two.

In the second game, Kelsey Dean keyed a four-run second inning with a two-run double. Hill drove in two runs with a double in the second and a single in the fourth. Plathe (4-10) allowed three hits over four innings.

The Hawks, 17-25 and 12-16 in the GLVC, host William Jewell in a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday.
