Box Score 2 Kelsey Dean drove in four runs, highlighted by a two-run double in the fifth inning, to lead Rockhurst to a 10-6 victory over Wisconsin-Parkside in the first game of a conference doubleheader Friday in Somers, Wis.
The Hawks scored six runs in the fifth to overcome a 6-4 deficit. Dean's double gave the Hawks a 7-6 lead.
Alex Hill doubled home two runs to cap the rally.
Rachel Evans and
Demi Plathe added RBI singles in the fifth.
Liz Desloge, Plathe and Dean each finished with two hits.
Bridgette Sappington (11-12) pitched the first five innings to get the win.
Plathe posted two extra-base hits and drove in two runs to lead Rockhurst to a 5-4 win over the Rangers in the second game.
Alex Jacobson led the Hawks with three hits.
Rachel Evans added two hits. Plathe and Sappington combined to hold Parkside to three earned runs.
The Hawks, 15-21 and 10-12 in the GLVC, play at a doubleheader at Lewis on Saturday.
