Lauren Cairo hit a three-run home run in the third inning to give the Hawks a 5-3 lead. Northwest Missouri hit a pair of two-run home runs in the fifth to take a 7-5 lead. The Bearcats added five runs in the seventh.

Demi Plathe led the Hawks with three hits, including a leadoff triple in the first. Alex Jacobson went 2-for-3 with an RBI single in the second. Plathe (1-5) took the loss as he allowed seven runs on 11 hits.

In the first game, the Bearcats pounded out 15 hits while Rockhurst committed six errors. Plathe collected two of the Hawks' five hits. Alex Hill drove in RU's run with a single in the second. Bridgette Sappington (5-8) walked four and struck out two.

The Hawks, 6-14 and 1-5 in the GLVC, travel to Missouri S&T and Drury this weekend.
