Box Score 2 Bellarmine's Scarlett Powers hit a two-run home in the top of the eighth inning to lift Bellarmine past Rockhurst 4-2 in the second game of a rescheduled doubleheader Monday at RU's Loyola Park. The Hawks were blanked 3-0 in the first game.
Rockhurst rallied to tie the second game at 2-2 on an RBI single by
Nicole Adams in the sixth inning,
Liz Desloge drove in the Hawks' first run with a sacrifice fly in the first. Adams and
Lauren Cairo both collected two hits.
Bridgette Sappington (5-7) took the loss in relief of starter Demil Plathe.
In the first game, the Hawks were held to six hits.
Gabbie Boerema went 2-for-3.
Alex Hill and Cairo each posted a double. Sappington allowed three runs on four hits with three walks and five strikeouts.
Rockhurst, 6-12 and 1-5 in the GLVC, will face Northwest Missouri State in doubleheader at home on Wednesday.
