Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Fort Hays State held off a Rockhurst rally to defeat the Hawks 6-4 in the second game of a non-conference twinbill Friday in Hays, Kan. The 14th-ranked Tigers won the first game, 9-0, in a six-inning game.

Rockhurst scored two runs in the fourth, and added single runs in the fifth and sixth to pull within 5-4 of the Tigers. Demi Plathe doubled
twice and drove in one run. Alex Jacobson went 2-for-3 with an RBI single. Katelyn Bakey and Rachel Evans also drove in runs.

Plathe allowed six runs on six hits to take the loss in Game 2. Bridgette Sappington was the losing pitcher in the first game. Liz Desloge collected two of the Hawks' four hits in Game 1.

Rockhurst, 2-6, will play at Southwest Baptist on March 1 in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
