Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Alex Jacobson and Sadie Applegate both homered in the fourth inning to power Rockhurst to a 5-3 victory over Drury in the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday at RU's Loyola Park.

Jacobson gave the Hawks a 4-3 lead with a two-run homer to left field. Applegate also cleared the fence in left to give Rockhurst a two-run lead. Applegate, who singled home a run in the second, finished with three hits. Jacobson and Liz Desloge each collected two hits. Sydney Fairfield (11-5) allowed five hits over the first four innings. Demi Plathe pitched the final three innings to pick up her first save of the season.

Drury scored three unearned runs to edge the Hawks 4-2 in the second game. Infield errors led to Drury runs in the second, fifth and sixth innngs. The Hawks grabbed a 2-1 lead in the third inning on a two-run home run by Plathe. Rockhurst's Molly Schieber (4-4) allowed 10 hits over seven innings.

The Hawks (18-13, 6-9 GLVC) host Missouri S&T in a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Wednesday.
