Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Freshman Demi Plathe powered Rockhurst to a 9-8 victory over Missouri S&T in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday in Rolla, Mo. Plathe hit a three-run home run to left center put the Hawks in front for good in the fourth inning.

Amanda Burger and Natalie Johnson each collected three hits to lead the Hawks, who finished with 11 hits. Sadie Applegate hit a three-run homer in the second. Johnson and Burger also drove in runs in the first two innings. Molly Schieber, 5-5, held the Lady Miners scoreless over the finals four innings.

Missouri S&T blanked Rockhurst 7-0 in the first game. The Lady Miners scored two runs in the fourth and added five unearned runs in the fifth. The Hawks were held to four hits. Plathe, 5-5, allowed nine hits and seven runs in four-plus innings.

The Hawks, 22-15, 10-11 GLVC, play a noon doubleheader at Drury on Sunday, April 21.
