Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 William Jewell exploded for 25 runs in sweeping a doubleheader over Rockhurst on Tuesday in Liberty, Mo.

The Cardinals scored 11 runs in the first inning on the way to a 13-3 victory in the opening game. Amanda Burger hit a three-run home run in the second. RU's Sydney Fairfield (8-4) allowed nine hits and four earned runs.

In the second game, Jewell outscored Rockhurst 12-4 while collecting 12 hits. The Cardinals scored six runs in the first and five in the fourth. Burger and Demi Plathe combined to drive in three runs in the second. Alex Jacobson added a solo home run in the third. Plathe (3-3) was the losing pitcher.

The Hawks (14-9, 4-5 GLVC) return home to host Washburn in a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Wednesday.
