The 42nd-ranked Rockhurst men's tennis team opened the 2013 spring season with a 9-0 victory over Baker Friday at RU's Loyola Park Tennis Courts.

Rockhurst swept the double matches by 8-1 and 8-0 scores and won the third match by default. In singles play, the Hawks won five matches in straight sets. Rodolfo Gauto-Mariotti and Yassir El Ghazi won No. 1 and No. 2 singles by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Truit Gray, Pawel Grzegrzolka and Anthony Ibarra also collected singles victories.

The Hawks will play at Newman on Friday, Feb. 15 at 11:00 a.m.
