Rockhurst women's soccer freshman forward Jenna Roark and senior goalkeeper Sydney Schnarr have been selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week following a perfect 2-0 week for the Hawks, the conference announced Tuesday (Sept. 8).
Roark was named the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring four goals across Rockhurst's two victories. The Jefferson City, Missouri, native scored twice in the Hawks' 3-2 win over Emporia State on Sept. 2 before adding two more goals in a 5-0 shutout of Indianapolis on Sept. 5. Roark recorded nine shots, including four on goal, while playing 103 minutes during the week. The freshman earns her first career GLVC Offensive Player of the Week honor and becomes the first Rockhurst player to receive the award since Anna Lantz on Nov. 3, 2025.
Schnarr earned GLVC Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping the Hawks secure two victories while playing all 180 minutes in goal. The senior goalkeeper made 18 saves on the week, including 14 in the win at Emporia State, while facing 26 shots overall. Schnarr also helped Rockhurst post a 5-0 shutout of Indianapolis on Sept. 5. The honor marks the first GLVC Defensive Player of the Week award of her career and Rockhurst's first in the category since Taylor James on Oct. 7, 2024.
The Hawks improved to 3-0-1 on the season following the two victories and return to action with another GLVC matchup tomorrow at Bourke Field. Kickoff is set for 5 PM.
