Hawks Remain Unbeaten with 5-0 Win Over Indianapolis

Five goals by four Hawks gave Rockhurst a 5-0 victory over Indianapolis on Saturday morning at Bourke Field. Rockhurst finished with a 34-7 shot advantage, including 15 shots on goal. The Hawks held the Greyhounds to just four shots on goal.

The Hawks (3-0-1, 1-0 GLVC) are unbeaten after four matches for the first time since the 2020 season that was played in the spring of 2021.

Caitlyn Smith opened the scoring in the 11th minute from Kaitlyn Hobart to the top of the net from 35 yards out. Piper McGuire added a goal in the 41st minute. Overall, the Hawks finished the half with a 20-2 shot advantage.

Jenna Roark scored in the 52nd and 65th minute to extend the Hawks' lead to 4-0, her third and fourth goals of the season. Jacie Tottleben picked up an assist on Roark's second goal.

Elizabeth Mertzlufft scored late in the 72nd minute for a 5-0 lead, assisted by Maggie Leahy.

Roark and Leahy both led the Hawks with seven shots, as Leahy had six on goal. Smith recorded five shots as Makayla Martinez took four shots (one on goal).

Sydney Schnarr made four saves and recorded her first shutout as a Hawk.

Rockhurst returns to Bourke Field to face Truman State on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
