The Rockhurst men's and women's cross country teams open the 2026 season Saturday (Sept. 5) at the Bob Timmons Rim Rock Cross Country Classic at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kansas.

Due to forecasted heat, the race schedule has been moved up from the originally scheduled times. The men's 6K race will now begin at 8 a.m., followed by the women's 5K race at 8:45 a.m.

The Bob Timmons Rim Rock Cross Country Classic marks the first competition of the season for both the Hawks men's and women's teams. Rockhurst will compete at Rim Rock Farm, a course located approximately 15 miles north of Lawrence at 2276 Burnett Lane.

The men's team will be the first Hawks squad to take the course, racing in the 6K at 8 a.m. The women's team will follow at 8:45 a.m. in the 5K.

Saturday's meet will provide Rockhurst with its first opportunity to compete as a team during the 2026 season and begin building toward the championship portion of the schedule.

The meet will be timed by Black Squirrel Timing, with chipped bibs being used for all races. Unofficial results will be posted following each race, with official results available following the conclusion of the meet.
