The Rockhurst women's lacrosse team made history with a 17-8 victory over 19th-ranked Regis University in the first round of the NCAA Midwest Regional Thursday at Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Hawks' first-ever NCAA Tournament win advances the Hawks (13-4) into an NCAA Regional second-round game against eight-ranked Maryville Saturday in St. Louis.

Rockhurst scored 13 goals in the second half to rally from a 6-4 halftime deficit. The Hawks opened the second half on a 10-0 run.

• Elise Magee led the Hawks with five goals on 12 shots.
• Kylee Pickens posted a game-high 17 draw controls and tallied two goals and one assist.
• Kaylee Lary scored three goals on six shots.
• Kharis Perona added two goals and one assist.
• Kayla Stewart collected 10 saves and nine ground balls.
