Women's Lacrosse Earns Academic Honors, 16 Hawks Recognized by IWLCA

The Rockhurst University women's lacrosse program continued to showcase its commitment to academic excellence as 16 Hawks were recognized on the 2025-26 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Academic Honor Roll released Wednesday (July 22). 

The IWLCA honored 568 student-athletes from 65 different institutions on the 2025-26 Division II Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for recognition, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic grade-point average of 3.50 or greater.

Representing the Rockhurst Hawks on this year's IWLCA Academic Honor Roll were graduate students Payton Dodge, a Business Administration major, and Page Yehling, a Business Administration major.

The Hawks' senior honorees included Abby Gerstner, a Computer Science/Mathematics major, Elise Magee, a Molecular Biology major, Katie Nord, a Physics of Medicine/Exercise Science major, Kharis Perona, a Secondary Education/English major, Rhea Spiers, an English/Business Administration major, and Meghan Thomas, an Organismal Biology major.

Rockhurst's junior selections included Ayana Bougie-Martinez, an Exercise Science major, Riley Hoff, a Molecular Biology major, Keira Jelinek, an English Writing major, Kaylee Lary, an Exercise Science major, Hannah Legge, a Sports Management major, Anna Loeffelman, a Criminal Justice/Philosophy major, Natalie Muser, a Business Administration major, and Stella Scoggin, a Business Administration/Psychology major.

The individual academic honors come following another historic season for the Rockhurst women's lacrosse program. The Hawks finished the 2026 season with an overall record of 13-5 (5-2 GLVC), earning a spot in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional. Rockhurst made program history in the opening round of the tournament, earning its first NCAA Tournament victory with a 17-8 win over No. 19 Regis University.

Along with the individual recognition, the Rockhurst women's lacrosse team was also recognized by the IWLCA as an Academic Honor Squad for the 2025-26 academic year. The award honors programs that achieve a team cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher during the academic year.
