Hawks drop doubleheader at Drury

The Rockhurst baseball team dropped a doubleheader at Drury on Saturday in Springfield, Missouri. The Panthers won the first game, 2-1, and posted a 14-3 win in Game Two.

Game 1: DU 2, RU 1

Drury scored an unearned run in the first inning and took a 2-0 lead in the third on an RBI single.

Dakota Hanna put the Hawks on the board with a solo home run in the seventh.

Brendan Rodis (5-4) held the Panthers to two runs on eight hits while striking out two in 6.0 innings.
 

Game 2: DU 14, RU 3

The Panthers scored four runs in the third to take a 5-1 lead. Drury added three runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth.

Afton Koch led the Hawks with two RBI. He collected an RBI double in the third and drove in Josh Syfert with a groundout in the fifth.

Matt Bolinger led off the seventh with his first career home run.

Rockhurst (28-15, 16-1 GLVC) closes out the four-game series with Drury at noon Sunday.
