Rockhurst split a conference baseball doubleheader at the University of Indianapolis on Saturday. The Greyhounds won the first game, 13-9, and the Hawks posted a 9-6 victory in the second game.
Game 1: UIndy 13, RU 9
The Greyhounds scored nine runs on just four hits in the first three innings. Indy added four runs on five hits in the sixth.
Dakota Hanna paced the Hawks with three hits, two runs scored and three RBI. Colton Wemhoff drove in two runs. Afton Koch and Michael Laudando both scored two runs.
Game 2: RU 9, UIndy 6
The Hawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning behind RBI doubles by Josh Syfert and Wemhoff.
Laudando hit a solo home run in the fifth and Syfert gave the Hawks an 8-2 lead with a three-run homer in the sixth.
Peyton Clerk led the Hawks with three hits and two RBI. Syfert finished with two hits, two runs scored and four RBI. Laudando, Wemhoff and Avery Garmon each had two hits.
Keller Costello (4-0) held the Greyhounds to two runs on two hits and struck out five in 4.1 innings. Zack Boland got the last two outs to gain his first save of the season.
