Rockhurst University had 212 student-athletes earn Division 2 Athletics Director Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Awards for the 2024-25 academic year, the organization announced this week.

The Academic Achievement Award is a program that recognizes academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the NCAA Division II level.

"Academic excellence is a main focus of the Rockhurst University student-athlete experience," said RU Director of Athletics Kristy Bayer.

"I am extremely proud of our student-athletes who earned D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award status. We are appreciative of the coaches, staff, and faculty who continue to foster a strong academic environment."

Rockhurst ranked second among Great Lakes Valley Conference schools while ranking ninth overall among all Division II schools. Women's Soccer led the way for the Hawks with 34 honorees followed by Baseball with 26 recipients.

In total, there were a record-breaking 22,756 student-athletes from 202 institutions recognized for the 2024-25 Academic Achievement Awards. This is the most student-athletes being recognized since the inception of the award's program.

To be eligible for the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, must have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work, and must have been a member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.

Since the inception of the award's program in 2007-08, there has been a total of 190,032 student-athlete nominees recognized for their academic achievements at the Division II level.
