Rockhurst University will bring the Hawk spirit to one of Kansas City's biggest stages Saturday (Aug 29) night as Rockhurst alumni, students and members of the University community come together for a special College Night with Sporting Kansas City.

The celebration begins at 7:30 p.m. at Children's Mercy Park, giving the Rockhurst community an opportunity to experience a night of professional soccer while celebrating the connection between two proud Kansas City institutions.

The evening will be a busy one for Rockhurst soccer. Before the Sporting Kansas City match, the Rockhurst men's soccer team will open its 2026 home season against Newman at 7 p.m. on Bourke Field. With both events taking place Saturday evening, it will be a full night of soccer for the Rockhurst community and an opportunity to support the Hawks.

Rockhurst students and attendees who take advantage of the College Night opportunity will receive admission to the match and transportation, making it easy for the University community to attend together. Those in attendance will also receive a special Rockhurst University and Sporting KC commemorative scarf, giving Hawks a unique keepsake from the night. A limited number of scarves are available, with 200 scarves set aside for College Night attendees.

Saturday will be a day for the Hawks and a night for Kansas City soccer, beginning with the Rockhurst men's soccer home opener at Bourke Field and continuing under the lights at Children's Mercy Park.
