Women receive first NCAA tourney ticket since 2012

The Rockhurst women's tennis team is returning to the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first time since 2012 and the fifth time in school history. The Hawks (16-5) will play Findlay (19-3) in the first round of the Midwest Regional on Monday, May 12 at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.
 
Seven teams earned tickets to the Midwest Regional. Rockhurst is seeded sixth, while Findlay is the No. 3 seed. This will be the second meeting ever between the two schools. The Hawks won their previous match in 2018 in Orlando, Florida.

The Rockhurst-Findlay winner will face the winner of No. 2-seeded Grand Valley State (15-4) and No. 7 Indianapolis (12-6) on Tuesday, May 13 in Allendale, Michigan. Grand Valley State is ranked 24th in the latest ITA national rankings, while Findlay is ranked 15th.

Following the preliminary rounds, the field of 16 teams competes in a single-elimination competition to reach the championship final. Matches begin with the first round on May 21 and continue through the championship match on May 25 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
