10/8/2026 12:05:00 PM

The Rockhurst women's tennis team continues its fall season this weekend (Oct. 10-12) as the Hawks travel to Davenport, Michigan, for regional tournament action.

Rockhurst will have 13 players competing in the women's open singles draw, with 12 Hawks also forming six doubles teams. The regional will be the Hawks' third tournament of the fall after competing at the Washburn Invitational and Drury Invitational.

Zuzanna Szmyd enters the weekend after highlighting Rockhurst's performance at the Washburn Invitational on Sept. 18-19. Szmyd captured the Green Flight singles championship, rallying for a 3-6, 7-5, 10-7 victory in the title match. Ewangelina Penkevych and Elisoa Andriantefihasina also put together strong runs at Washburn. Penkevych advanced to the Blue Flight semifinals, while Andriantefihasina reached the Red Flight semifinals. Anna Borovytska added a Green Flight quarterfinal appearance.

All four will be back in singles action at the regional along with Hana Bytyqi, Eleanor Coleman, Camelia Hadab, Nadia Kaewsai, Parmida Kalali, Elisa Nunez, Elise Nunn, London Roberts and Cecilia Ulrich.

The Hawks will also feature six doubles pairings. Andriantefihasina and Borovytska will play together after also teaming up at the Washburn Invitational. Bytyqi will pair with Ulrich, Coleman with Penkevych, Hadab with Szmyd, Kaewsai with Nunez and Kalali with Nunn.

With a singles championship and multiple deep tournament runs already under their belts this fall, the Hawks will look to continue building momentum against regional competition in Michigan.
