Men to finish regular season on the road

The Hawks come into this weekend 16-10 overall and 10-8 in the GLVC
The Rockhurst men's basketball team finishes the regular season on the road with two rematches from earlier this season. Rockhurst takes on McKendree on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Lebanon, Illinois and faces Illinois Springfield on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Springfield, Illinois.

Rockhurst (16-10, 10-8 GLVC) dropped both games last week, falling 83-64 to Lincoln last Thursday and 78-77 to No. 11 Missouri S&T at the buzzer last Saturday. Jaylen Wesley scored a career-high 32 points in the loss to the Miners.

McKendree (12-13, 9-9 GLVC) won 76-62 over Quincy last Thursday, but fell to Upper Iowa 84-82 in overtime. The Bearcats come into the final weekend of the regular season splitting their last six games.

Earlier this season, the Bearcats won 91-86 in overtime on Dec. 2, 2024, at Mason-Halpin Field House. McKendree leads the all-time series 8-6 against Rockhurst dating back to February 2014 and have won the last seven contests.

Illinois Springfield (12-14, 7-11 GLVC) fell 80-62 to Upper Iowa last Thursday and 87-80 to Lewis last Saturday. The Prairie Stars face William Jewell on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. before playing against Rockhurst on Saturday. Heading into this weekend, Illinois Springfield has split their last four games.

Illinois Springfield won 81-73 against Rockhurst on Jan. 18 at Mason-Halpin. Rockhurst leads the all-time series 11-9 dating back to January 2010, but the Prairie Stars have won the last three and four of the last five.
