Men travel to William Jewell in KC Crown game

The Hawks face William Jewell on the road on Saturday
Rockhurst Men's Basketball meets William Jewell in a KC Crown rivalry game on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Liberty, Missouri.

The Hawks (4-2, 1-1 GLVC) went 2-1 in their last three games. Rockhurst picked up wins on Nov. 25 at Missouri Southern (94-86) and Nov. 29 against Truman State during the home-opener (95-79). On Monday, Rockhurst fell at McKendree, 95-85, in double overtime.

Jaylen Wesley was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Athletic Solutions Player of the Week on Monday. Wesley averaged 25.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists during last week's action.

William Jewell (3-4, 1-1 GLVC) fell 82-56 to Missouri Southern on Nov. 25 and 61-60 to Illinois Springfield on Nov. 29. The Cardinals won 74-61 on Thursday against Southwest Baptist.

Rockhurst leads the all-time series over William Jewell, 90-68. The crosstown rivals split their conference matchups last year. Rockhurst won 70-64 on Dec. 5, 2024, at Mason-Halpin Field House while the Cardinals won 80-78 on Feb. 8 in Liberty, Missouri.

The Hawks return home on Monday to host Calvary at 7 p.m. Calvary (1-2) fell 84-46 to Truman State in an exhibition on Nov. 19 and 88-43 to Southwest Baptist in an exhibition on Nov. 24. The Warriors face Central Christian College of the Bible on Saturday before facing the Hawks on Monday.

The Hawks lead 4-0 in the all-time series against the Warriors. Monday's matchup will be the first in over 10 years. Rockhurst won the last matchup, 101-38, on Nov. 14, 2015.
